    COURT CLERK PITMAN DEAD. PROVIDENCE, March 22.—Clerk Henry Pitman of the United States Circuit Court died today of pneumonia. He had been In the one office for forty years. He was appointed In 18M, when Judge Pitman, his father, was Judge of the District Court. He married a daughter of General Carpenter. but Mrs. Pitman died some years ago, and a daughter alone survives.
