In September 1973 admitted to the Rhode Island Bar.
From 1974-1981 - Assistant Public Defender with State of Rhode Island Public Defender's Office - in that capacity represented indigents who were charged with criminal offenses which ranged from misdemeanors to capital crimes.
From 1981-1998 - Private practice - concentrating primarily in criminal defense.

Other Information:
United States Army Reserve - served 26 years, retiring in September 1996 with the rank of colonel.
