The District Judges of the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island have recently added language to their Pretrial Scheduling Orders regarding discovery disputes. As of the date of this notice, no discovery motions shall be filed until after the party in good faith tries to resolve the matter with opposing counsel. If that does not resolve the dispute, the party must first have an informal conference with the Court, which can be arranged by contacting the judge’s case manager.  Please consult the notice for additional information
