The United States District Court for Rhode Island is thrilled to announce its 2025 CLE program: Civil Rights Litigation under 42 U.S.C. 1983. This comprehensive, free course is open to all attorneys practicing in Rhode Island and offers 12 CLE credits, including 2 ethics credits. The program will cover key aspects of civil rights litigation in federal court, including:

State action requirements
Crafting complaints
Substantive law under the First, Fourth, and Eighth Amendments
Government immunities
Attorneys' fees

Sessions will be held biweekly on Tuesdays from January 28 to April 8, 2025, from 3:30 to 5:00 PM at the Federal Courthouse, One Exchange Terrace, Providence, RI 02903.
