SAVE THE DATE: Civil Rights Litigation CLE Series

Friday, December 5, 2025

The United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island is pleased to announce its annual CLE program for Winter 2026, which will again address civil rights litigation.  The program is free for any attorney practicing in Rhode Island, regardless of Bar memberships.  This year the program will explore the various state and federal statutory causes of action for civil rights violations and experienced litigators will talk about the differences between them and tactical considerations in bringing and pursuing lawsuits.  An additional session will be devoted to pursuing statutory attorneys’ fees, particularly in pro bono cases.  The Program is sponsored by the Pro Bono Program at the Court and, while Pro Bono Panel participation is not required, we hope attendees will be open to the possibility of joining the Panel.

The series will take place every other Tuesday, from 3:30 to 5:10 p.m., in the Jury Assembly Room at the U.S. District Court, on:  January 27, 2026, February 10, 2026, February 24, 2026, March 10, 2026, March 24, 2026, and April 7, 2026.  Registration will be for each session individually but combined the sessions will offer 12 credits:  9 general credits, 2 ethics credits and 1 DEI credit. Registration will open soon!  We hope to see you there!
